Introduction
This document is a compilation of Parliamentary Speeches, Debates and Public Statements about the Alice Springs to Darwin Railway since Self - Government.
The individual documents have been drawn from the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly Parliamentary Record (Hansard), Media releases from the Northern Territory Government and Opposition, newspaper and journal articles from various news publications.
The documents provided cover the period since self-government in 1978, until early 2001, and follow the discussions and key decisions that have been made in respect of the railway.
Treatment of documents
